Changes to the Shop - Starting in August 2026

There have been several changes to The Lythik Noir Collective this year, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to make a few more.

I recently got some not-so-great news about my health. I will disclose this information at some point. I am just not ready to make it public information yet. I will thank you in advance for respecting my privacy until I am ready to talk about it more.

I just got back from a much-needed family vacation, and took a lot of time to think about how to proceed.

Changes to our Hours:

Our previous hours were Tuesday to Saturday, 12 PM to 5 PM. I have decided to keep the hours the same, but to be closed on Tuesday as well. This will give me one extra day for appointments, so I can keep the random shop closures to a minimum. So our new store hours will be Wednesday to Saturday, 12 PM to 5 PM.

Pushing for More Online Sales:

I have four days (starting today) when I will be home, before making a trip to New York City for four days. I have opted to just keep the shop closed during this time. I have wanted to get more of our stock on our website and really try to push for more online sales since in-person sales have dropped so dramatically. I have felt mentally and physically drained for months, so I have just not been able to push myself to make these needed changes. Allowing myself some time to rest has finally given me the ability to start working on my checklist.

As always, free local pickup will be available for all online purchases. This just gives everyone an easier and more relaxed way to shop and help support our little shop when they aren’t feeling like leaving their house. It is a hard world to live in right now; I completely understand.

New Displays and Autumn Inventory:

We are excited to announce that we will be selling for local vendor Seamstress & Co. Danielle has already dropped off many items that we are so excited to put on the floor. Danielle is also loaning us some fantastic display furniture that will really help us update the shopping experience at the shop. We will be picking those up tomorrow so we can have everything ready when we open again on August 12th.

My team and I are also on the hunt for unique items from small brands and businesses to add to our inventory for Autumn. I can’t wait to show you what we find!

New Brand Ambassadors:

This isn’t actually new news if you have been in our shop, but my daughter and I adopted a couple of kittens from Project Hiraeon (https://projecthiraeon-shop.fourthwall.com). We have been bringing both kittens to work with us every day.

Hope is my daughter's baby. She was abandoned by her mother, so she had to be bottle-fed by the rescue. She is definitely the calmer of the two, and can often be found napping on the shop’s coffin cat tree.

Freya is a week or two younger than Hope. She was the runt of her litter, and she and her siblings came into the rescue severely malnourished. I’m happy to say that she is healthy and thriving. She has an abundance of energy and loves greeting customers. She will even follow you around to help you shop.

We are completely in love with both of them, and I’m so happy we get to bring them to the shop. So if you need a little serotonin boost, come in to meet Hope and Freya!

As always, thank you to everyone who has given us nothing but love and support. It has been an extremely difficult year, but the little community that we built out of this dream that Chelly and I had makes everything worth it.

Stay Weird,

XO - Morgan
